Their 42-acre farm sits on the western slopes of the Big Island, near Mauna Loa and Hualalai, and is planted in \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eTypica\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e—a variety deeply rooted in Kona’s coffee history.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003ePam’s great-grandfather farmed cattle, pineapple, and eventually coffee in the region. Since they began dating, Pam and Ted dreamed of continuing that tradition. Its processing sits between washed and honey: the Darnalls remove the skins and most of the fruit, soak the seeds for a day, then move them to a patio to dry.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIn the cup, expect \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003emolasses, burnt sugar, and brown malt sweetness\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, lifted by subtle citrus and rose hip tea. A hint of cola brings another layer, with a clean, pleasantly sweet finish.
