About the Producer
Founded in 2018, Mbewe Washing Station works with nearly 200 smallholder farmers throughout the Songwe region of Mbozi, Tanzania. In 2024, the station expanded its operations by building its own wet mill, allowing the team to purchase coffee cherries directly and oversee every stage of processing. This investment has strengthened quality control from harvest through drying while creating new opportunities for producers across the region.
About This Coffee
Grown between 1,600 and 1,800 meters above sea level, this washed Bourbon offers exceptional clarity with layered sweetness and a vibrant, tea-like acidity. Notes of dried mango, orange peel, and cinnamon are supported by raw sugar sweetness and a clean, refreshing finish.
After harvest, the cherries are pulped and fermented for 24 to 36 hours before being fully washed and carefully dried on raised beds for up to two weeks. This lot is graded AA, representing the largest coffee beans selected through a series of screens to ensure consistency and quality in every cup.
