Adorsi Washing Station
of Ethiopia
The Adorsi Washing Station is located in Ethiopia’s renowned Yirgacheffe region, within the Gedeo Zone, an area celebrated for producing some of the world’s most expressive and sought-after coffees. Operated by the Yonis family, Adorsi serves as a vital hub for more than 800 smallholder farming families from the surrounding communities.
Many of these producers cultivate coffee on small plots of land at elevations exceeding 2,100 meters above sea level, where fertile soils, abundant rainfall, and a unique microclimate create ideal growing conditions. Through the washing station, these family farmers gain access to processing infrastructure, quality-focused practices, and international markets that help support their livelihoods and strengthen the local coffee economy.
The Yonis family has built Adorsi around a commitment to quality, collaboration, and long-term relationships with the farming communities they serve. By working closely with hundreds of local producers, they help preserve the agricultural traditions of Yirgacheffe while continually investing in the future of coffee production in the region.
Today, Adorsi stands as a reflection of the collective effort of hundreds of farming families whose dedication, knowledge, and stewardship of the land have helped establish Yirgacheffe as one of the most respected coffee-producing regions in the world.
