Origin

Tanzania

Tanzania has long been recognized as one of East Africa’s most important coffee-producing countries, though its coffees are often overshadowed by neighboring Kenya and Ethiopia. Grown at high elevations along the country’s southern highlands, coffees from regions like Songwe are known for their vibrant acidity, layered sweetness, and remarkable clarity.

Process & Varietal

Washed Bourbon

This coffee is a washed Bourbon, a variety celebrated for its sweetness, balance, and elegant cup profile. Originally introduced to East Africa generations ago, Bourbon continues to thrive in Tanzania’s high-elevation growing regions, where cool temperatures help develop complexity and sweetness within the fruit.

Our Roasting Philosophy

We approach roasting with the belief that great coffee already carries its own identity. Our job is not to overpower it, but to reveal it. Every coffee is roasted light with intention and restraint to preserve clarity, sweetness, structure, and a true expression of origin. Inspired by the nuance and transparency often found in tea, we focus on coffees that feel expressive, layered, and evolving in the cup. From everyday drinkers to competition-level coffees, our goal is always the same: to bring forward the work, craft, and story already present inside the seed. We roast to honor the producers, the process, and the people behind every cup. All coffees are roasted in small batches every Sunday on our San Franciscan roaster to ensure the highest level of quality and freshness possible. Because of this, some orders may take a little extra time to ship. We appreciate your patience while we carefully prepare each rotation.
