Halo Beriti Washing Station
of Ethiopia
The Halo Beriti Washing Station is located in Ethiopia’s famed Yirgacheffe region and works with approximately 750 smallholder farmers who deliver freshly harvested coffee cherries each season. Established in 2014, the station is known for its commitment to quality, carefully processing coffees from some of the region’s smallest family farms, many of which continue to grow coffee using traditional methods passed down through generations.
Beyond coffee quality, Halo Beriti reflects a farming culture deeply connected to the land. Most producers cultivate coffee under natural shade alongside other crops, creating biodiverse farms that support both soil health and local livelihoods. This combination of traditional farming practices, smallholder dedication, and meticulous processing has helped make Yirgacheffe one of the most celebrated coffee-growing regions in the world.
