Muhororo Washing Station
of Rwanda
Muhororo Washing Station comes from Nyamasheke, Rwanda, where over 200 local households deliver coffee cherries throughout harvest season.
The station is operated by the Rumenerangabo family, whose story stretches back generations and reflects resilience, community, and deep commitment to coffee. What began with Celestin Rumenerangabo planting his first 380 coffee trees in the 1970s eventually grew into a family-led mission focused not only on producing exceptional coffee, but investing directly back into the people who make it possible.
Today, Muhororo supports local growers and workers through healthcare initiatives, education support, sustainable farming training, livestock programs, and plans for childcare facilities within the community.
The coffee itself is fully washed and carefully processed at the station, producing a cup that feels clean, balanced, and approachable while still carrying a lot of depth and sweetness.
For us, coffees like this represent more than just flavor. They represent people, history, hospitality, and the communities behind every cup.
